The Arts@Trinity Flute Choir was founded in January 2015 as a flute group open to all by Laura Kox. It has since grown to be one of the largest flute groups in the UK. It's members come from across Yorkshire to meet once a week for rehearsals plus additional rehearsals on occasional Sunday's.

We organise two headline concerts a year in our stunning home venue of Holy Trinity Church in Leeds city centre and additionally we play at various events across the country throughout the year.

Our small membership fee and concert ticket sales cover the cost of running the choir and buying sheet music, but unfortunately aren't enough to be able to also afford buying instruments.

All of our members own their own "concert flutes" (the "standard" size, if you will) and a couple of members own their own altos, piccolos and even a couple of basses. We would love to be able to give every member the chance to learn to play the less common sizes of flute by owning our own.

About a year and a half ago we were fortunate to get some funding to be able to buy an Alto flute which members have enjoyed being able to take home and practice for the week. Now we'd like to expand to also own a bass flute.

It would also help with the sound balance of the ensemble. Just like in a symphonic orchestra - just the right amount of varying instruments creates the perfect blend. A bit like coffee. Or cake. Or your favourite curry.

Instruments like these don't come cheap - we are looking at buying a Trevor James Bass Flute at a market price of £2,679. Through our recent concerts and some generous friends we have been able to already raise part of the money needed.

But now we are counting on your help!
