After having managed to secure an internship at the US Congress, I need to pay for health insurance. As an international student, the premium is $821 and it will be very difficult for me to pay for it. This could really jeopardise my stay in Washington DC as I am running out of money and don't have enough savings. Your help would give me the chance to take this additional financial burden out of my shoulders and focus on my internship.
Get to know me:
I have grown up in one of the poorest neighbourhood in the North of France, well-known for drug-dealing, high unemployment rate, and poverty. I have worked very hard since I was a child, always aiming high at school and achieving the best results. After high school, I was offered a place to study International Politics at the University of Wales, with full funding. I quickly became one of the best students of the cohort. I was the only student selected to go on an exchange placement to Canada last year, and I was among the very few students who were selected to partake an internship at the British Parliament last summer. This year, which is my final year, I have managed to achieve one top-class first and firsts in all of my assignments, putting me on course to graduate with a first overall. At the same time, this allowed me to successfully apply for the very competitive Congressional Internship programme at the US House of Representatives, where I am one of the very few international students who will have the incredible chance to intern this year during the summer.
