I have been shortlisted as a 2015 finalist for the 'Small Business' category of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards!
I entered this competition on a whim, thinking I had nothing to lose, however I never even considered that I would become a finalist! Now, the time has come to purchase my tickets to this prestigious event at The Ballroom, Southbank, London on 25th November. I simply cannot afford to pay for tickets to the event, let alone pay for travel and accommodation costs for myself and my mother, AND get a new 'black tie' outfit so that I look the part!
Please help me to go to the awards ceremony by donating as much or as little as you can! You can see my name on the shortlist page in the 'small business' category here: http://greatbritishentrepreneurawards.com/2015-shortlist-gbea/
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, and although the compeition is very big, and I do not want to get my hopes up, the event itself will allow me to expand my business by networking with some of the highest rated entrepreneurs around! Lord Sugar himself has promoted the event quoting “Britain is known to have generated a whole hose of entrepreneurs. We must continue and be proud to celebrate entrepreneurship in Britain. It generates new ideas and concepts and in turn it generates employment and prosperity for our country.”
A little bit about my business...
I started Nicola Davis Crafts in 2013 when I finished my A-levels. At the time I was struggling with anorexia nervosa and decided to focus my efforts on my recovery, using art as a creative outlet. I started to create silk paintings, each and every one inspired by positivity and happiness. Now, aged 19, I work at Nicola Davis Crafts full time and sell my work internationally online and at craft fairs.
