Project aim

To raise much needed funds to transport donations and essential supplies to the people suffering in Calais' Jungle.

About the project

Hello lovely, kind and generous peope, if you have gotten this far then you have a heart of gold and I thank you for your time :)

Here we go...

In Calais, as you read this there are thousands of people, too many of them children suffering the most horrendous conditions. Some of them have endured horrific journeys to get this far. Loss, fear, sadness and uncertainty are a part of daily life and unfortunately the number of people stranded in Calais is only set to grow.

By helping out with this journey you can help myself and our volunteers offer a small amount of comfort and practical help to these people during the harsh months of winter.

Approximately £1000 will pay for a van to do a round trip enabling 3 people to volunteer for a week, and one tonne of donations to be delivered.

Anything raised above and beyond will be spent on items which need to be bought new - basic medical supplies, fist aid kits, sanitary products, wash kits, food and other essentials.

And if we happen to get double what we've asked for - 2 trips! :D
There is a HUGE backlog of donations being stored in the East MIdlands which are desperately needed out in Calais.
It would make my day to be able to fund multiple runs and to be able to fund the van to be used as a workhorse shifting and sorting donations in between runs.

After delivering the donations myself and 2 volunteers will stay over in The Jungle for roughly a week to help the core team of resident volunteeers where ever they need it. Vans with drivers and extra hands are in high demand in Calais for the distribution of donations and to assist with the frequent and large evictions and 'clean ups'.

We intend to travel the 2nd week in December as this is the time when least people volunteer and the weather will have well and truly turned wet and cold meaning supplies and helpers will be desperately needed.

If you would rather donate 'items' over cash then please feel free to contact me and I'll give you the most up to date list of thing which are most desperately needed. Whilst volunteering we are likely to be doing a lot of clearing and cleaning up so heavy duty rubble sacks and gardening gloves would also be really handy, maybe you could add a pack to your weekly shop?

Any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

And lastly thank you SO SO SO much!
Cheers to you, you beautiful people! :) <3
