Woodhouse Farm is a unique community space, incorporating a historic walled garden packed with community grown produce, open green spaces that are idea for exploring, fields of rare breed cattle, pigs, chickens and a community building used by vulnerable groups from across the local area. Parts of the site dates back to 1700's - we are a working farm with our arms wide open to the communityof which you can be part.
It is our community space named The Pigsty after it's former occupants, that needs your help! We are raising money to install toilets and complete much needed building work, to ensure that this space is safe, accessible and warm for community groups. We have support from the Big Lottery with a small grant and local defence medics between training (Stationed at DMS Whittington) are donating their time (and muscles!) to help with building work.
We also have the committment of our volunteers. Many volunteers have come to the farm since we openned in 2010 for therapeutic activities; they may have struggled with mental health issues, learning difficulties or students needing experience and the farm is a place where they can heal, learn and contribute.
Please make a pledge towards our campaign and, in return access one of our amazing rewards, all of which involve supporters experiencing the many wonders of Woodhouse Farm. We will also list all supporters on our giving tree, a mural planned for the wall of the completed building, keep you up to date with developments via a quarterly newletter and send you a " I supported Woodhouse" Fridge Magnet.
We would appreciate it if you could save this campaign as widely as possible, we also open to the public on a Tuesday and a Saturday afternoon, and welcome visitors old and new to come and explore all we have to offer.
