Climbing for Cold Cots in memory of Robin

Help me help other bereft parents. Raise money to buy a coldcot for a local hospital and give those parents the precious time with baby.

Did you know, there is not a specific word in the English language for a parent that has lost a child? A child that loses it's parents is an orphan. A spouse who loses their partner becomes a widower. A parent who's child dies is simply refered to as a "bereft parent".

We can't come up with a single word to describe something so painful. I am a bereft parent. 11 people everyday in the UK go through what I did. I delivered my beautiful stillborn son into this world on November 4th 2015.

In memory of my son. My rather adventurous Dad has decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in order to raise funds towards a coldcot. Maybe the closest to heaven that he will get whilst on this Earth. He shall reach the summit on New Year's Day to welcome in the new year.

Robin was born at full term and the pregnancy the entire time was textbook. His death shattered the entire family. However, if it was not for the use of a cold cot at the hospital, I would not have been able to spend the time with him that I did and share him with our friends and family.

A cold cot is a piece of equipment used to keep cool the body of a baby who was lost through late miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death. This allows the family precious time to grieve and be with baby. Time they would otherwise not get.

This helped me incredibly to come to terms with my loss. I need to be able to give back to the local hospitals. There are parents who go through this devastating loss. Do not have access to these cots and therefore the time to come to terms with what should be one of the most exciting moments in their life.

Help my Dad raise some funds for his much loved Grandson. Encourage him on his venture to the other side of the world and help us help other bereft parents out there.
