Make a difference this Christmas

Changing lives for the better this Christmas

For lots of people, Christmas is a magical time of year. But for many, it can be a reminder of everything they don't have.

Crowdfunding has the extraordinary potential to connect individuals, communities, charities and businesses to improve lives, one idea at a time.

Whether it's a special dinner for care leavers surrounded by happy faces, or giving presents to children who need them most, it's a time to give thought to how we, as a community, can assist people in need.

Crowdfunding has provided us with everything needed to make a memorable, magical Christmas Dinner for young adult care leavers.

Christmas ideas come in all shapes and sizes

With the help of our online support tools she came up with a great project page, offering a variety of rewards for residents and local businesses in return for pledges of money. The community responded and soon she was closing in on her target.

At the same time our +Funder, Just Act, was supporting Crowdfunder projects that had gathered support from their local community and Stephenie’s idea fit the bill. They added a further £1,000 pledge of their own to support the Crowd.

In the end the town sailed past their target and raised £5,625 from 37 supporters, including £1,000 from Just Act, to make it a Christmas to remember in Staffordshire.

We are motivated by the need to bring about change in how we as a community can assist young care leavers.
