Christmas lights for Richmond in Surrey

To bring fantastic, sparkling Christmas lights to The Quadrant, George Street and Duke Street in beautiful Richmond-upon-Thames

About the project:

I've lived in Richmond for more years than I care to admit and every year at Christmas I've wondered why Richmond doesn't have fantastic Christmas lights hanging over the main streets to bring a sparkle of seasonal magic to our town.  Whilst there are lights already on Hill Rise and in the alleyways of Richmond, what we really need is a big 'Regent Street' blaze of joy and wonder in the town centre.

Richmond is such a wonderful place to live and it attracts tourists from far and wide, enticed by our history and beautful town.  What a wonderful boost it would give to local residents, tourists, shops and businesses alike to make Christmas really sparkle this year and every year from now on.

Richmond Council and the Richmond Business and Retail Association have already done fantastic work towards the goal of putting up lights. Building owners have agreed to lights being fixed, lights have been chosen and fundraising is well underway.  Several very generous sponsors have already contributed: Veolia, The Gill Clinic, Lloyds Bank, London Square, LB Richmond, Not on the High Street, Reed Exhibitions, Richmond Theatre, Richmond Business and Retail Association, H&M, Young's and Petersham Nurseries.

BUT...

More money is needed to make this project sizzle and it would be wonderful if we, the local residents, could play our part in bringing amazing Christmas light to our fantastic town!

I volunteered to bring this crowdfunder.co.uk project to life to give lots of local people and businesses who had expressed their desire for wonderful Christmas lights the chance to be part of this project.  Your donation will be vital in bringing this project to life and as an added bonus we've put together some incentives for donors that we hope will entice you to give generously.  Please do also tell your friends and neighbours about this project so that we can involve as many local people as possible and spread the good news.
