Beginning October 2016 I will be studying part-time for an MA in Theology and Ministry at Westminster College, Cambridge. I need to pay all of my fees and costs myself. This could be amazing fun !
Sending money to me directly at PAYPAL is 10% cheaper than this website ... firstname.lastname@example.org
If you know me then you'll know that Laura and I went to Kenya in 2015 on a wing and a prayer and spent a month teaching music in various schools and children's homes under the guidance of Bishop Peter Chege and Guy Bastable at New Life Homes Trust (who are brilliant and you can see them here http://www.newlifehometrust.org if you have some spare money !).
Of course, it was a gamechanger for us, and we decided that we want to do more in that area. So Laura is training to be a teacher and I ... I have now been made redundant from my 6 years of lecturing music at a midlands university and I am waiting to work with a teaching agency that I worked with last year. I knew that I wanted to study ministry but didn't know how. I found out how and this is it !
For the next two years (academic years, not proper years) I'll be studying in Cambridge at the beginning of the week and, hopefully, teaching the rest. If not, I'll continue my search for a proper job :)
Because I funded my MA in Music myself I cannot have any student finance. I know that doesn't make sense (I've never had a student loan or grant) but there appears to be no appeal. This fund amount represents what I would have received in student bursary and fees if I'd qualified.
So ... give me some cash please and I will spend it on lurning. Its a very tough course, designed for very bright people who have been studying deep, deep stuff for many years. Unlike me.
Unless you say otherwise, I will give 10% of all your donations to a Home in Kenya that I'm associated with. Its not a sweetener, just a chance to share the joy :)
Thank you for reading. It will have come as a shock to many of your that I have an altruistic bone in my body; your donation will be especially favoured ;)
