Chorley Little Theatre has been open since 1910, and since 1960 has been owned and operated by Chorley Amatuer Dramatic & Operatic Society. Run entirely by volunteers we stage plays, pantomimes, musicals, youth shows, cinema, event screenings, professional comedy and music and more. Any profits go back into the upkeep of the venue.
With close to 20,000 admissions a year it is well-used by the community and offers something for everyone. But the seats are decades old and need replacing before they break. If they break, we can't fix them, therefore we can't fill the auditorium and we lose income and people miss out on shows. We want to replace the seats before it's too late.
Using our skills, experience, and industry connections we are planning on replacing all the seats in the auditorium over summer. This also involves re-laying the wobbly floor so will leave us with a safer environment as well as comfier seats with more legroom.
This project should not only ensure the future of the venue for many years but by offering more comfort we hope people will come more often and we'll be able to offer more events and experiences.
This is all about ensuring the people of Chorley and surrounding areas continue to have a place to entertain them for years to come, that they will enjoy visiting and happy to support and spend time at.
We are offering a number of rewards for supporting us - whether it be simply buying advance tickets to our own productions, or getting your name on our new WALL OF FAME, there's plenty of incentives. We are a busy theatre, full of hard-working volunteers, and we appreciate everyone who comes to watch our stuff.
