Thanks for taking the time to read our page!
We are looking to raise as much money as possible for Charlie 'Chaz' Dawson (Ben's cousin) whom suffers with an extremely rare condition called 'Paroxysmal Non-Kinesogenic Choreoathetosis' (A disorder of the nervous system that causes periods of involuntary movement. Paroxysmal indicates that the abnormal movements come and go over time) along with 'Dystonia Attaxia (a neurological movement disorder syndrome in which sustained or repetitive muscle contractions result in twisting and repetitive movements or abnormal fixed postures). Charlie is 1 of 5 people in the whole world!!
Charlie's condition is not curable and we as friends, family and his surgeon (whom successfully completed the deep brain surgery), can only try and help make his life more comfortable than it currently is!
Charlie relies on a wheel chair A LOT. As he gets older he has become weaker therefore not able to rely on a pushed wheelchair much longer. The new chair Chalie would like is a powered chair and is called a Trekinetic GTE; which costs £10,500.00. The chair is lighter than the old one, but also can switch from Manual to Powered by the flick of a switch, which makes it so much easier for Charlie, his parents and for anyone who pushes him.
So, how are we going to raise money? In August we will be taking part in the 3 PEAKS CHALLANGE with 2 very good friends Tom & Olivia. Also, Ben (Charlie's cousins) & Sarah (Ben's girlfriend) will be taking part in the SWINDON HALF MARATHON in September!
Currently there is £4,000 put aside to go towards to chair, however with as much fundraising as possible we are aiming to make Charlie's wish come true with this new chair, so please help donate; small or big! Anything will help and is highly appropriated!!
Thank you for your time reading this & donating (hopefully)!
Have a lovely day!
