& 39;World Event Young Artists (WEYA) is the very first event of its kind to take place. It is an exciting occasion bringing together and celebrating the talent and artistic excellence of young people from across the globe. In September 2012 WEYA will bring 1,000 artist (18-30y/o) from 120 nations to Nottingham. Over a period of 10 days, there will be activities across all art forms including visual arts, music and gastronomy.& 39;
I have been lucky enough to have been selected for this exciting event. My pieces & 39;Galipote& 39;, & 39;Un inverosimil archipelago& 39; and & 39;Cojuelo spirit& 39; will be performed during the festival (7th-15th September). I have been in contact with musicians from the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music and I managed to get the players I need to play & 39;Galipote& 39; and & 39;Cojuelo Spirit& 39;. Trio Atem, to whom & 39;Un inverosimil archipelago& 39; was written for, has agreed to play it again during the Festival.
Even though the festival provides accommodation and meals during the festival, I want to cover the musicians travel expenses and if possible a small fee for their time.
The minimum I need to cover their expenses is £800 but the more I can fundraise, the more I can give to these extraordinary and helpful musicians!
