Hello all, thanks for visiting my project page. I thought I would tell you a little about myself and why I decided to embark upon this change in my life.
I qualified as a Nurse in 2003, initially enjoying the challenge, being with people and having a positive effect on their health and wellbeing gave me a great buzz. However as time went on I found the majority of my daily workload involved paperwork, meetings, drug rounds........basically anything that took me away from being a nurse!
Due to my wife's job we have moved around a lot, and despite my hesitation at times, I continued with nursing as a way of making a living (as we all need to do).
So fast forward to the present day and I find myself still stuck in the same rut. So I have decided to put my best foot forward and follow my dream...
The idea...
I have always loved being creative with different medium, but the thing I love the most is using glass, it started off with creating leaded stained glass panels and this evolved into copper foil glass panels. Now I would like to take this journey to the next level, with glass, and experiment with its colourful properties and potential form through fusing.
As a result I am hoping to raise money to buy a kiln and the accessories needed to produce my own fused glass items. They can stem from products as small as a key chain, right up to beautiful bespoke bowls. In order to step back from the rat race and realise this dream I need to raise capital to buy the items required, the breakdown of how the money will be spent is as follows:
- Kiln - £1844.40
- Glass - £500.00
- Necessary Accessories - £426.44
The result...
My hope is that with your generous contribution I will be able to get my business up and running, allowing me to finally move away from nursing and focus on my passion. It has been years in the contemplative stage, but now is the time for action.
