UPDATE - 04/04/16

WOW! We've just smashed through the £750 mark and we're still climbing. I'm going to now set the target to £1000 and who knows...we may be able to push through that as well. I'd just like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated so far, be that cash or clothes, its hugely appreciated.

UPDATE - 21/03/16

We've hit £500! Thank you to everyone who has donated for this fantastic cause! I'm going to do my best to push towards the £750 mark - I'll keep you all updated as to progress. You've made big difference to people who really need help.

The situation for the refugees in the Calais jungle is dire. Since the planned 'dismantlement' of certain areas of the camp many hundreds have been left without shelter, food or water at probably the worst time of the year. The charities that service the camp are in serious need of both volunteers and donations to continue their work. They make life possible for the many thousands of men, women and children who have become stuck in northern France, only 30 miles from our shore.

I am going to volunteer over the 15/16 April. The aim of this page is to raise £500 to fill my car with necessaries to help the families. I'm going to be joining a UK charity called 'Care4Calais' who collect donations from around the world and distribute directly into the centre of the jungle. I'll be distributing food, clothes and helping to rebuild shelters. Below, I've listed a few items that are most needed. Please help me raise the funds to make their lives a little easier.

High Priority Items

Tents, Rollmats, Sleeping Bags, Blankets, Rucksacks, wind-up torches and lanterns, waterproof walking boots, warm waterproof winter jackets, jogging bottoms or jeans, socks & underpants, tarpaulins, toiletries and toiletry packs including sanitary necessaries, nappies, trainers and waterproof trousers, childrens clothes, childrens toys.

Tinned food with pull tops. Stews: lamb, chicken, beef. Fish: tuna, sardines. Tomatoes, red/ white beans, chickpeas, lentils). Easy-cook rice, cooking oil, UHT milk, Liptons and green tea, coffee, sugar, long-life fruit juice etc.

Thank you for taking the time to read. Please donate anything you can spare.
