I have worked for start-up businesses and small businesses in the past and i am very passionate in supporting them in anyway i can.
I have witnessed first hand how coupon/discount websites can bully businesses and force them into unrealistic and unfair contracts. In some cases meaning they are left losing money.
What is Cardiff Social?
We are a Cardiff based marketplace website, offering local businesses the chance to promote themselves in an ethical, afforable and effective way. We are a discount website offering local deals, however unlike other discount websites we won't be taking commission, forcing unfair contracts or dictating the deals they put on.
We are currently creating the website (nearly complete). The website will give businesses a chance to advertise these deals and offers as a way of inticing new customers through the door, however instead of taking a commission their is a very small one off fee per advert (10% of which is given to local causes/charities and projects).
The idea of this is simple but effective, i believe this is something that both customers and businesses are going to want to be involved in, and we feel this fully embraces the idea of supporting the local economy.
Where does the money go?
To make the final payment to our developer and to put the website live (£525)
Market the website (online and print) (£675)
Fund a Part-time customer service/Helpline/Digital Marketer (during the initial 3 month period) (£1800)
You will be part of something that could bring real change to the market and ultimately support local businesses and charities.
We currently have a large network and a decent backing of industry professionals, so we are sure that we can progress smoothly and quickly.
You will be credited on our website and we will do everything we can to reward and update our contributors as the business progresses.
We also pledge to return the favour by funding a crowdfunder project.
