Captive Hearts is based on the real life events during the Lebanon hostage crisis of the mid 1980's.
It centres around ulster man BRIAN KEENAN, who began teaching English at the American University of Beirut, only to be taken hostage. JOHN McCARTHY is the British journalist covering the Lebanese civil war, as well as the kidnappings of westerners.. He himself gets taken on his way to the airport leaving the country..
Both men meet a couple of months into their incarceration, and it's about the bond they forge, the way they get to know each other, and indeed rediscover themselves.
In essence, it's a love story, but of the unbreakable human spirit within the darkest imaginable time.
It has been selected to show at the Etcetera Theatre Camden in August as part of the Camden Fringe.
Money raised will help towards production costs and publicity.
