I am a 14 year old boy and in 2018 I will be undertaking a 4 week expedition to Cambodia with an externally run organisation called 'Camps Internatonal' but is organised through my school.
While we are there we will be helping out the local families who live on about 65p a day. Most of them can't even afford water. We take it for granted that we can go to the tap and have clean running water.
Cambodia suffers from widespread poverty. So, while I am on the expedition i will be participating in many projects which will help the local community. I will be improving schools and facilities through construction, helping local farmers and helping to teach English to adults and children.
I believe that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I've always wanted to do something like this in my life. I am looking forward to lending a hand to the community and I hope to experience a new culture and way of living.
