The Pink Singers Album: By Special Arrangement

A Music project London, United Kingdom

Help The Pink Singers, record a new album of music, especially arranged for the choir, and raise money for LGBT charities.

New stretch target

Thank you for your incredible support. If we can raise an additional £1,000, it will allow us to invite a string quartet to be present on the day to make the album EVEN better!

Help The Pink Singers record a new album of music especially arranged for the choir, and raise money for two great LGBT charities!

Formed 32 years ago, the Pink Singers are Europe's longest-running LGBT choir. As a charity, our mission is to promote the appreciation of music and to champion equality and diversity within the LGBT community and beyond.

Buy a very special CD...

On Saturday January 9th, we'll be performing a concert at London's Cadogan Hall jam-packed with music tailor-made for the choir, titled By Special ArrangementIt's a showcase of commissioned arrangements by our own talented members of well-known songs by a wide range of artists across all musical genres, including...

  • Kate Bush
  • Joni Mitchell
  • Frankie Goes to Hollywood
  • Nirvana
  • Whitney Houston

... and more!

We'll also be performing a piece we commissioned from the legendary composer of Jerry Springer: The Opera - Richard Thomas. Written in 2013 for our 30th anniversary, I, Choir is a tongue-in-cheek look at choral life, using material generated by the members themselves.

It promises to be a brilliant concert - but we want to make the magic last more than one night, so we're raising money to record a CD of these amazing arrangements for everyone to enjoy for years to come.

... and do some good at the same time!

We plan to share the proceeds from the CD with two other charities we care deeply about: Diversity Role Models and the Albert Kennedy Trust. Diversity Role Models work to prevent homophobic and transphobic bullying in UK schools, while the Albert Kennedy Trust supports young LGBT people who are homeless or living in a difficult environment.

Each of the two charities will receive £1.20 from each CD to go towards their important work supporting those in need within the LGBT community.

If our campaign is successful, we hope to record the album at the English National Opera's historic studios in West Hampstead in mid-January. The album will be edited, mixed and mastered during February. We will post CDs out to backers in March 2016.

Pledge now!

Please pledge now to help make our project happen – and once you have, spread the word!

As a small charity it is difficult to raise funds upfront for projects like this, and this is where you can make a big difference. As a supporter, not only will you receive some fantastic music to treasure forever, you'll be helping to support the LGBT community.

Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!

P.S. if we hit our target, we have a VERY EXCITING stretch goal up our sleeve too!
