The origins of the BTC Southampton Rowing Club can be traced back to 1927 and with over 100 members we are one of the largest and most succesfull club in the region. Our members regularly compete at local, national and international levels including representation from our senior mens crew at Henley Royal Regatta, our veteran men at the World Masters, and our juniors at the inter-regionals.
In order to maintain our success and intake levels, we are now raising money for a new coxed four rowing boat. This will assist both the the men's, women's and junior squads to compete at local and national level.
We have secured £10,000 funding towards this project via a generous grant, however, we now need a further £2,500 to make the dream a reality.
With a surge of new arrivals following Team GB's amazing success in rio, our current equipment cannot cope with the influx of people. We currently have four coxed fours and are hoping to add 2 more to our fleet in time for the 2017 season. This would allow us to get an extra 24 new rowers out each week and for our more advanced crews to train at a time convenient to the squad.
We would really appreciate any donation no matter how big or small. The donation will help to continue to grow rowing as a sport in the UK and potentially play a part in the training of future gold medalists! With this new boat we will be able to continue the year on year improvement and success of the rowing club.
Thank you from all at BTC!
