Brixham Marine Conservation Day - May 30th 2017
Lighting the way for a healthier, cleaner and safer marine environment
by bringing together
Marine Conservation, Education, Research and Tourism
Brixham Marine Conservation Day
Organisations with an interest in Marine Conservation, Education and Research have been invited to take a stand, organise an activity or give a talk/presentation on May 30th 2017 with the aim of bringing more awareness of marine conservation/research to the general public and to explain how they can help do their bit for the future of this planet...
Brixham Yacht Club will be hosting the talks/presentations throughout the day.
This event is free of charge for both organisations participating and members of the public visiting.
The reason for this appeal is that we have a zero budget - we don't believe this will cost a lot to run but we need funds to market this event.... to produce educational leaflets, advertising, marquee for the stands, etc. and to pay for public liability insurance.
Participants so far -
British Divers Marine Life Rescue who will also be running a marine mammal rescue demonstration.
Devon Wildlife Trust
Devon Seals in the Wild
Community Seagrass Initiative
Marine Management Organisation
Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust
Marine Conservation Society
Plymouth University Marine Institute
National Marine Aquarium
South Devon College
Sea Champions SW
Ghost Fishing UK
Organised activities include a Beach Clean up, Evening seashore safari, crab research competition
The Marine Conservation Photography Compeition winners will be exhibited during the event.
We don't have any incentive to offer other than to invite you to the event on Tuesday 30th May 2017. We are based in the beautiful fishing port of Brixham in South Devon, England.
We are hoping with enough support and funding to grow this event into a Conservation Week incorporating both Land and Marine Conservation, Education and Research.
Thanks to Devon Seals in the Wild for the photo......
