The BTC produces 10 selected short plays with the aim of promoting playwrights and helping them to get their work seen and published

Project aim

The British Theatre Challenge produces 10 new, one act plays with the aim of promoting emerging playwrights and helping them to get their work performed and published.

About the project

Each year, Sky Blue Theatre Company hosts a playwriting competiton that sees entries from writers all over the world hoping to get their play selected as one of the top ten. Once the ten winning plays have been selected they are then fully produced by a host of professionals and presented to an audience who choose their favourite.

Firstly, a performance venue needs to be arranged, props and costumes need to be purchased, rehersal spaces need to be rented and so much more - and this is where we really need your help.

By dontating to this cause you will be helping to make the challenge a success and publicise the work of emerging writers. Every dontation will of course be rewarded; we would appreciate even the smallest of donations. Incidentally script readers, producers and directors are all Sky Blue volunteers for the BTC, ensuring any money goes where it is most needed (for the performances).

If you're somebody that loves theatre, the British Theatre Challenge is surely worth your help. Just think, you may be helping to discover the next Alan Ayckbourn, David Hare or John Osborne!

The British Theatre Challenge is a fun and unique experience that gives new writers a chance to get their work staged and recieve feedback from directors, producers, publishers and other members of the theatre world. Why not donate and become part of this exciting project?
