Bowdon Hightown Ladies have achieved unprecedented levels of success over the past 20 years winning multiple  national titles and representing the UK in European competitions on many occasions. The team has provided the platform for players to move through to reach highest levels of hockey with many players going on to represent England and Great Britain. Five of these players were just successful in winning the Olympic Gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The girls continue to play in the National Premier, the highest calibre of hockey played in the UK. They regularly travel round the country as part of this commitment. The team are a fantastic bunch of girls, a pleasure to work with and real ambassadors for the sport. Unfortunately, as the only Northern hockey team playing in the National Premier League, this brings with it a number of financial challenges.  There is a demand for the team to travel around the country and the funding (travel, hotels, kit etc) is provided purely by the girls themselves. A reflection of their dedication to continue play at this level.
Bowdon hockey club is a thriving club with over 16 adult teams and hundreds of juniors playing each and every week. Bowdon Hightown Ladies 1st team are the only team playing premier league hockey in the North of England and therefore act as role models across the club, region and nationally. They have a proud history and an outstanding reputation as one of the most successful teams since England Hockey formed the elite division.
It seems unfair that due to their success, hard work and dedication; the result is increased expenses/funding to be able to maintain their status as one of Englands premier womens hockey teams. Any support you could provide would be cherished by the team.
