Get The Bluebelles to the Fringe!
Who Are We?
We are The Bluebelles, an all-female A Cappella group from the University of Exeter. Founded in 2013 we have gone from strength to strength, singing our own arrangements of everything from Radiohead to the Andrew Sisters. We are known around Exeter for our beautiful blend and powerhouse vocals.
For the last two years we have been semi-finalists in The Voice Festival UK, and quarter-finalists in the ICCAs, to great acclaim. In 2016 we released our first single 'Love On Top', and are due to soon be releasing our music video 'Musical Medley' this summer. We regularly perform in and around Exeter at gigs and concerts, and can also be found busking in the high-street.
If you want to see more of what we can do, take a look at our social media and enjoy!
What are we doing?
The Bluebelles will be hitting the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for the third time this summer! With some fresh faces and an abundance of fantastic new arrangements, be prepared for a caberet extravaganza. A vintage spin on all of your favourite tunes will leave you wanting more, but we need your support to make this show happen. Our show 'Moulin Blues' promises everything from incredible choreography, to spine-tingling harmonies, to sensational solos. The Bluebelles will show you A Cappella like you have never heard it before.
Why do we need your help?
We are incredibly honoured to be supported by the About Turn Theatre Company, veterans of the Edinburgh Fringe with 24 hugely successful Fringe productions since 2002. This is our third year working with this company and we are very thankful for the experience that they impart on us.
However, we still need to raise money for many aspects of the show, including: costumes, props, travel, publicity, and photography and filming. We are contributing as much to this as we can, but, as students, we are in vital need of your support in order to make our show the success we know it can be. The contracts have been signed, the arrangements are learnt and our choreography is well underway – so please help us with this final push to make our ambition a reality!
Risks and Challenges
This will be our third show at the Edinburgh Fringe, and we are fully aware of the potential challenges we might face, but we are completely invested in making our show a success. We know that we have the ambition and talent to put on an incredible performance, and we are prepared for the road ahead. We plan on supplementing your donations with money raised through performances, busking and bake sales, and are realistic about the requirements of putting on our show.
Fortunately, the About Turn Theatre Company, who have years of experience in putting on shows of this type, are supporting us every step of the way. We are confident that with their expertise and guidance we are on track to make this venture a real success – but we still need your help.
