After planning, promoting and hosting 15 blogger training events (across Manchester, London and Leeds) since January and running a successful pre-order campaign for THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP JOURNAL last month - we're now seeking funding to offer two student / graduate placements, to support the growth of THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP, as well as offer valuable experience and training to improve their employability skills and future career prospects.
THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP BACKGROUND (JANUARY 2017 TO APRIL 2017)
Within three months of THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP launching, over 50 bloggers had been supported at our face-to-face training events, as well as an additional 100 bloggers online. We then successfully ran a pre-launch campaign for THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP JOURNAL - which went international in three days and has now been ordered by bloggers in America, Australia, Canada, Germany, Romania, Austria and across the UK (including the Channel Islands and Northern Ireland).
For all of this to be possible, THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP has relied on the support of friends, family members, student / graduate volunteers (from The University of Chester, The University of Central Lancashire, Nottingham Trent University and Sheffield Hallam University), as well as THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP growing online community.
Here is a video created by Antonia, who helped at THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP training events in Manchester;
From working with several student volunteers, listening to members of THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP online community and from personal experiences, we understand that there's a need for paid work experience and practical training for students and graduates. The government has also recognised this need and have tried to bridge this gap with the introduction of 509,400 apprenticeships in 2015/16, however these are not available to university students or graduates - meaning that those who have put themselves in debt to further their education are not able to secure relevant opportunities that are paid.
This has resulted in thousands of young people feeling unappreciated and leaving them unable to start their careers, leading to anxiety, stress and in some cases developing more serious mental health problems.
Not only that, but they are putting themselves in further debt by borrowing money, or end up receiving Job Seekers Allowance / Universal Credit (at the tax payers expense) meaning that they're also unable to make payments on their student loan, which is going to create a financial black hole in 25-30 years time if these aren't paid back.
THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP CAN PROVIDE THE MISSING LINK AND USE THIS UNTAPPED POTENTIAL.
THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP ATTENDEES IN MANCHESTER - JANUARY 2017
THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP ATTENDEES IN LONDON - MARCH 2017
Based on the success that THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP has had to date, there is real potential for it to grow considerably with full-time support (which we wouldn't be able to self fund at this early stage of the business).
By being able to offer two student / graduate three month placements, this will ensure that THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP can not only continue promoting diversity within the media industry by empowering, inspiring and supporting bloggers (and aspiring bloggers) through face-to-face training events, but also reach even more people through the development of our online training and membership website. This blogger training not only builds confidence and develop skills such as branding, content creation and social media marketing but also provides bloggers with the knowledge to generate income online - either providing them with additional income, or allowing them to become self-employed.
In the future, there are also plans to expand and offer training to entrepreneurs, small business owners and start-ups to help them use blogging and social media to help reach more customers, as a result generating more sales - something which THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP has had significant success doing!

THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP PLACEMENTS
Although we're only asking for funding to provide two student / graduate three month placements, this is just the start of the training and support that THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP can offer.
These placements will not only have a positive impact on the students / graduates who'll be able to develop essential knowledge and skills (including business development and HR experience, communication, organisation and time management skills, digital and social media marketing training, as well as practical events planning and management experience) - but also enable THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP to support more bloggers, start training entrepreneurs and business owner to generate more sales online as well as create additional placement and job opportunities in the future.
BY CHANGING THE WAY BUSINESSES WORK WITH STUDENTS AND GRADUATES, WE CAN CREATE A LEGACY MODEL WHICH WILL NOT ONLY IMPROVE BUSINESS BUT ALSO CREATE FUTURE JOBS
FINAL THOUGHTS - AND THANK YOUS!
These placements will be advertised via THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP website, university jobs websites and Universal Jobmatch. However, students / graduates are also encouraged to express an interest by creating a blog post or short video explaining how they would benefit from joining THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP and Tweeting this to @theblogbootcamp.
If you have already attended one of our events or pre-ordered THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP JOURNAL please support our Crowdfunder campaign by sharing it with your friends and across social media. The success THE BLOGGER BOOTCAMP has had so far wouldn't have been possible without the brilliant bloggers who've been involved - here's just some of them;
Thank you for your support - we're really excited to invite you on this journey with us!
