Crowdfunder HQ are joining in with the National Bike Week celebrations and are on the look-out for great cycling related projects.
Here at Crowdfunder we love projects that make a difference to our planet and have funded some great ones. We also love a good bike ride and love celebrating our great cycling successes.
One of our biggest successes to date, The Bicycle Academy managed to raise 40k in just six days. Andrew Denham, the brains behind the project looked to the crowd to fund tools for his exciting social enterprise. Students visit The Bicycle Academy, learn the tools to make their own frame and then send them to Africa – knowing it will help change someone’s life.
A year on from his crowdfunding campaign, Andrew is still running The Bicycle Academy and helping make a real difference. Love it as much as we do?
Roll for the Soul collaborates tea with bikes – what more does anyone want? Roll for the Soul is due open in the next few weeks and we provide Bristol with a community focused bike café. Rob Wall, founder, hopes Roll for the Soul will be the focal point for cycling in the city.
The café will provide scrummy food and drink as well as workshop space, cycling related events and repairs and servicing. What more could a cycling enthusiast want?! This one is definitely one to visit.
Next on the list is Freedom to Ride – a group of enthusiastic people determined to make the most successful cycling campaign in Bristol. These guys have gained so much support for their project and managed to smash their target with weeks left.
Their story is they want to change the way people travel in Bristol and have produced a manifesto for cycling freeways that they will take to the Mayor and give everyone the freedom to ride in Bristol. We love this project and can’t wait to see what the Mayor thinks about the manifesto.
We love funding great ideas and want to hear from you if you have a great cycling related idea. Let’s club together and help change the way people travel, think about bikes and enjoy a coffee. Add your project today.
