The crowd just keep on funding great projects and the latest idea to become a reality is In Capacity House. Ken McLoone and his team asked for £500 in the hope of getting their performance to The Brighton Fringe – the crowd made his dream come true.
Ken is an actor and producer at Just An Act theatre company, In Capacity House was their latest project. Just An Act was formed in 2010 by a group of London based acting students who met while studying at City Lit.
Their shared vision is to produce plays that are devised through improvisation, that are meaningful and entertain. In Capacity House is about a Glaswegian alternative drag queen who spends her days in preparation for the big show, endlessly going through a dress rehearsal in the confines of her studio flat. Unable to leave the confines of her tiny flat, she fantasies about a sparkling, brilliant life that they have stolen from her. Family, friends and siblings are all suspects…
In Capacity House raised the £500 they hoped for which will pay for marketing and printing, payment for a stage manager/technician, early bird registration with the Brighton Fringe, costume and make-up and transport, props, set elements.
We want to say a massive thank you to the crowd who have made Ken’s dream possible and a huge well done to all all the team behind In Capacity House.
You can see the show on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th and 18th of May at 7.30pm at Regency Tavern (Fringe Venue 82) 32/34 Russell Square, Brighton BN1 2EF. Enjoy!
