Grenfell – what you can do to help

Our thoughts go out to the community of Grenfell and we encourage people to give what they can to support those affected in their hour of real need.
Crowdfunder’s mission is to connect people and resources to make ideas happen. We work with project owners across the UK to coach and enable them to successfully raise money to turn their idea into reality – focussing on building social capacity within the community and encouraging sustainability.
Though our platform doesn’t restrict what projects are added, our pages are not primarily intended to raise money for crisis funds. In this case, we recognise and respect the urgency and desire to raise funds for Grenfell – and we have a number of projects raising money for the disaster on the site right now.
Under Crowdfunder’s terms and conditions project backers pledge monies at their own risk, on terms agreed directly with the project owner. So we recommend if you wish to donate, you should read the project description carefully and be happy that the project owner is genuine, the outcomes they will deliver appear achievable, and that the project is therefore suitable to receive your donation.
Our advice is that people who want to support projects that aim to tackle emergencies or crises might be better donating to registered charities or respected organisations with a track record in delivering aid in these situations, like the Red Cross.
