The Black Cat Opera Company presents Mozart's Così fan Tutte

The Black Cat Opera Company returns to Guildford's Electric Theatre with a top-class new production of Mozart's comic masterpiece, Così fan Tutte, from 9th-11th December. Showcasing a cast of dazzling young operatic talent, this promises to be an evening of laughter, passion, tenderness and virtuosity - the perfect start to the festive season!

Of course, opera is not cheap to perform, and at Black Cat we have been incredibly fortunate to have wonderfully generous supporters for all our past productions. All sorts of things need to be paid for: props, costumes, scenery, orchestral music, surtitles... please help us in whatever way you can to reach our £1000 goal and help make Così the brilliant success it is already shaping up to be!

For more information about the production see our website.

About the Company

Black Cat Opera made waves in July 2014 with their inaugural production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni at The Electric Theatre, which was awarded 5 stars by the Surrey Advertiser – “Judging by its first full-scale operatic venture, Black Cat Opera … has a great future”. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength, mounting ambitious performances of works including Bizet’s Carmen and Verdi’s Falstaff.

“This was up there with the some of the best theatre productions I have seen over the years in London... the most exciting and powerful opera I have experienced.” - Audience reaction to Don Giovanni, July 2014

“I can honestly say, I was blown away by the production. It was so professional and engaging… I will definitely be attending more Black Cat Opera Productions in the future.” – Audience reaction to Falstaff, August 2015

 About the Production

Così follows two young officers (Matthew Palmer and James Savage-Hanford) who are manipulated into attempting to prove the love and fidelity of their betrothed (Aoife O’Connell and Claire Filer) by the wry puppet-master Don Alfonso (Gheorghe Palcu) and the girls’ maid Despina (Clare Treacey) – with darkly hilarious consequences.

This incredible cast are all young professional singers with a wealth of talent and skill, who appreciate the opportunity to sing this fantastic opera in Italian, with orchestra, and to an appreciative audience.
