The Black Cat Opera Company presents Verdi's comic masterpiece Falstaff in Camberley Theatre, 12-16 August 2015.
About the project
Based on the character Sir John Falstaff from Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, Falstaff is a joyously comic story of romance, jealousy, deception, and defenestration! Phillip Guy Bromley, a former principal with Glyndebourne, Welsh National Opera and English National Opera will direct the production and perform the title role. The professional cast also includes rising star Philip Smith, who will make his debut with the Royal Opera in the autumn.
As you might imagine, putting on a fully-staged opera can be an expensive business - amongst other things, we must pay for rehearsal venues, costumes (including a custom-made antler hat - you'll have to come to the production to see why we need that!), props (including a laundry basket large enough to fit a larger-than-average man inside it), and surtitles. We are entirely funded by corporate sponsorship and private donors, and since Falstaff is our most ambitious project to date, we need your help more than ever!

About the company
Black Cat Opera first made waves in July 2014 with their first fully-staged production, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, at The Electric Theatre, Guildford. The show was awarded 5 stars by the Surrey Advertiser, and since then the company has continued to flourish, performing in various venues around Surrey and Hampshire.
