Alzheimer’s, Junior beginners and junior tournaments squads. weekly the club delivers to over 350 people weekly across its programme. Our current home is the exam hall at Bishop Barrington school which has carpeted floors and poor acoustics
The funding will provide a specialist rubberised sports ‘carpet’ which is the same as that used at international events; providing better cushioning for participants, correct levels of grip and an environment which prepares them for high-level competing, as well as encouraging participation due to the higher environmental quality, with acoustic boxes installed to improve sound quality.A dividing curtain will also be installed, enabling the club to double its current delivery; increasing the number of junior sessions, girls only and disability sessions whilst ensuring a more personalised delivery in terms of providing sessions supporting the strengths of participants. Such a project will provide a motivational, inspirational and fresh, modern facility for the people of the communty to part in table tennis; providing a place which encourages young people, not only to take part in sport, but to educate them in healthy living, provide training and volunteering opportunities and provide a pathway into national, social and developmental opportunities.
