This is a campaign to surprise my wife for her birthday with a little fund to help her starting beekeeping.
I do not want to go into details, but we all know that bee numbers are falling alarmingly and much of our food production rely on insect pollination. There are number of things which everyone can do to help and one possible way is to either keep bees or support local beekeepers.
My wife’s grandfather was a beekeeper. Unfortunately he died before he could have passed his knowledge. After a few decades my wife wants to revive beekeeping in the family.
She is agricultural engineer by background therefore knows a thing or two about bees and she is very keen on them. I am sure she can do it!
Now she is receiving support and training from the local Beekeeping Association and feels now is the time to start.
With your generous support she could cover the initial expenses (hive, suit, tools etc.) and make her dream come true.
All backers can get information of the progress and of course…local honey. Please note as her starter colony will be young we should not expect a honey crop until next year. Beekeeping is extremely weather dependent!
Are you worried about bees? Interested in local honey?
If so then please support BEE AMAZING! Any donation you can afford will be very gratefully received.
