About the Project
We are raising money to refurbish our artificial practice facilites which is used by our 1st XI right down to the youngest members of the club who are only 6 or 7 years old. The total cost of the refurbishment will be in the region of £7,000 and we have so far managed to gain grant funding from Hambleton District Council of £2,500 leaving another £4,500 for us to find.
What do we need ?
The facility was constructed 8 years ago and is in need of a full refurbishment. We feel that we can keep the existing frame and net system but the quality of the surface is paramount to the usability and ultimately the safety of the users. We need to replace the existing surface which includes digging out and removing the carpet and base, re-laying and leveling the aggregates and laying a new surface. Ths is a specialist job and is not cheap.
Why do we need it ?
We have a rapidly expanding junior section with children from the age of 6 through to 13 as well as running two senior teams on a Saturday. We have our junior training nights on a Friday night which can have 3 or 4 different age groups training at the same time so to be able to have a safe and reliable area to practice is vital to us. Around 4 years ago we were able to purchase a high quality bowling machine but at present it isn't safe to use on this surface due to the unreliable bounce.
