Riverstorm Youth Theatre on the River Severn

Riverstorm is a new residential youth theatre camp: 7 days intensive collaboration for teenagers to make a show by the River Severn.

We did it!

On 5th Aug 2017 we successfully raised £807 with 31 supporters in 35 days

Riverstorm is Barnstorm's new youth theatre project running this summer 20th-27th August.

Barnstorm is a unique and innovative youth theatre project, run for 2 weeks each summer on May Hill in Gloucestershire. Each year, 60 participants age 12-18 camp in the Forest of Dean and work with a skilled team of  artists to devise, write and perform an original theatre production in the local village hall. The project leaders are highly-experienced theatremakers committed to making high-quality, dynamic and exciting work across community contexts..

Running since 1994, Barnstorm has nurtured an ethos of fostering well-being , creativity and a strong sense of community in young people. Generations of Barnstormers have carried this ethos into their personal and professional lives.

We want to sustain the Barnstorm ethos and expand our capacity to reach more young people by starting up a new project - Riverstorm  - at the Old Severn Bridge House in Etloe this summer, right on the shores of the River Severn.  This beautiful new site offers us fresh resources and exciting new creative possibilites.

In order to do this we need your support.  We are  starting from scratch. We have: beautiful surroundings, a field, a barn, a plethora of enthusiasm, 21 young people and 11 artists eager to make some magic.

But! We are lacking crucial funds to get this venture on it's feet.  We've applied for several lottery funds and have sadly been unsuccessful - we need your support for the following things:

Portaloos  - for...well....you know!

A marquee - for rehearsing and performing.

Lighting hire - to light up the magic.

Funds to pay the team - Riverstorm is not for profit but we want to pay our practitioners for their delivery of the week.

In exchange for your support, all who donate will receive:

A video of  the Riverstorm Thank You song which will be composed  and performed during week.

The 1st 100 to donate will receive:

Their name on a director's chair in the audience.

The 5 largest donations will receive:

A character named after them in the  show.

The highest donation will receive:

A Riverstorm cake and a bottle of Prosecco presented to them on the final Saturday after the matinee.
