I hope to create a sustainable support and skills network for women with disabilities interested in starting a family. Workshop and group.
The dream is to reduce the isolation amongst disabled women considering parenthood, and hopefully to create ongoing support after that with ongoing group meets and demonstrations.
Accessing support once your in need is difficult and more stressful than mindful preperation, which I hope to support these ladies in. It is hopeful that if successful a supporting partners group will be developed.
So, the basic thought is to run a project that allows participants to borrow an infant simulator and experience for a few days to consider the real impact on their disabilities, also access to a pregnancy simulator bump, to to the same thing.
The project will cover compensations local area support, and other living strategy considerations. Planning workbooks etc. Practical skills occurs for a week and the ongoing group every month.
The sessions space permitting can be attended more than once, but baby hire only once.
Women with arthritis, acquired brain injury, ADHD, musculoskeletal issues in general, executive function difficulties etc.
