Hertswood Secondary School in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Elstree and Borehamwood are helping to sponsor two young students (Harry and Ratidzo) to travel to Canada to perform in an Arts Festival. This is an amazing opportunity for them to learn and grow as artists. Both students specialise in the Dramatic Arts.
The River Arts Festival ( www.riverartsfestival.ca) will be held from November 3-17, 2012 and the student exchange will last for the one week of the festival. When Harry and Ratidzo are not performing or taking part in festival functions, they will be engaged in cultural activities such as sightseeing and school lessons.
This role will be reversed in June 2013 where the second half of the exchange occurs. Harry and Ratidzo will play hosts two students from Canada and they will partake in cultural activities, sightseeing and performances in the Borehamewood festival in the UK.
The total cost of funding needed will be approximately £3000.This will cover return flights, entrance fees, accomdation and transportation costs. With your help we are hoping to raise a portion (if not all) of the funds needed through this site.
This is the second year that this exchange trip has taken place. Parents of the students from the previous year have reported back saying that their children have gained confidence and benefitted a lot from this trip, that it was a worthwhile experience and would like to see it happen again.
HOW to INVEST:
On the right-hand side you will see the REWARDS. Simply click on whichever option you prefer and then click FUND NOW. Follow the steps for payment via PAY PAL, DIRECT DEBIT etc. Assuming the pitch is successful, you will receive an e-mail detailing what happens next , depending on your chosen reward.
HOW DOES THIS PITCH WORK?
As with all crowd-funded projects, this project will only come into existence if enough people invest in our pitch. However, crowd funding is not just about giving. You get something back, and the more you give, the more you get back - look at our rewards to your right.
But what happens if you have invested but we don’t meet our target? - everyone gets their money back and you have nothing to lose.
Small print detail: in the interests of transparency, if we don’t make the pitch, the only funds you’d lose would be the initial 3.4% mentioned above and the same % again when they return the funds to your PAY PAL account. In these circumstances Crowdfunder gain nothing, unlike some other similar online crowd-sourcing services).
