Children from the ages of 11-17 have been enjoying free Basketball session at Swallow Hill Community College for the last 6 months.

The sessions have seen an average of 30 children a week enjoy getting together in a safe environment under the supervision of the Neighbourhood Police Team, Basketball England. The sessions have been backed and promoted by All Together Armley.

Suddenly and without notice the funding has been withdrawn by the Statutory Authority.

Working with local businesses All Together Armley has raised sufficient funds in 5 days to keep the sessions running for the next 3 months.

We are continuing to seek sponsorship but until we do we need to raise £2460 to fund another 40 sessions.

It only costs £2.05 per child per week yet for some reason these kids are not going to be able to continue doing something they enjoy.

What message does it send out to young people who want to stay off the streets and do the right thing, build relationships and learn about team work if the authority involved lets them down.

We know it’s an expensive time of year and demands on your cash are massive but if you could just give a little until we find a sponsor it will keep the project going. £61.50 pays for another week.

If you are an individual anything you can spare would be appreciated by the kids involved.

Believe us we are working hard to find a sponsor so if you are a local business how about sponsoring a session, a month of sessions and if you are a large business can you give a little bit more?
