I am raising money to send out to orphanages in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone in West Africa to help ease the financial burden of the arrival of many new children who have been orphaned by Ebola. I hope to be able financially, as well as with tangible items such as first aid supplies, clothes and toys to help these orphanages prevent a devastating outbreak within them, as well as hoping to give these children some of their childhood back.
I was first captured by this cause after reading about how many families have been left devastated by this disease, and how many children have been orphaned by it. I was particularly saddened to hear that many of the orphanages that were opened during the civil wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone have been reopened to house the growing number of children orphaned by Ebola. From a civil war to a biological war, it seems only right that those of us that can do whatever in our power to help these children and the staff of these orphanages.
I will be arranging various fundraising activities such as bake sales, a 50/50 raffle and more, but any extra donations are incredibly welcome and appreciated.
I am working with the support of Gencad International, who I am incredibly lucky to have the support of.
My progress can be followed on my blog, www.christmasebolappeal.wordpress.com, where I will be updating regularly on my progress with the fundraising projects, my efforts to find a partner organisation and all donations I receive.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
