Hello, my name is Harriet - nice to meet you :)

On paper, I may seem like a pretty "normal" person - I'm a modern languages graduate from the University of Portsmouth (I speak French & Spanish), I have a great network of friends and family and I love shopping, socialising (to some extent...!) and a good Netflix binge in my spare time. But things aren't always as they seem...

In July 2016 I was fired from my job for taking too much time off due to my depression and crippling anxiety. I fought this decision with the company's head of HR - I fight I managed to win. I received a small amount of compensation (for legal reasons, I can't share the name of the company or the amount I received), which was spent on the necessities of life (food, bills, transportation, etc.), counselling sessions and consolidating debt. As you can imagine, this compensation quickly dwindled.

Almost a year later, I am still unemployed - I have had several interviews over the past few months but, alas, have not been successful. Determined not to give up though, I apply for jobs every day.

The point of this Crowdfund is to kindly ask my fellow man for financial support - I have a lot of outgoings and some debt to pay back (however, from the amount I am asking for, it isn't an extortionate amount of debt!). I just really, really need to depend on the kindness of strangers (as Blanche DuBois said) so I have one less thing on my mind.

If anyone you know or you yourself has suffered from anxiety and depression, you know how difficult it is to do anything "normal" - it's so hard to get out of bed, to leave the house and you merely just exist. Recently, I am a lot stronger than I have been and I am so determined to not let my illness beat me.

If you can spare a few £s, a few $s, or a few €s to help me on my way to conquer my own world - I would be eternally grateful.

**FYI, I WILL BE DONATING A % OF WHAT I RECEIVE TO MIND, THE MENTAL HEALTH CHARITY IN THE UK**
