Our pitch is for an alarm clock application for the iOS Apple software and the respective Apple App Store.
The alarm will differ from all currently developed alarms through the integration of a series of changing simple puzzles that will require the users full attention to disable or snooze the alarm.
For example, the user will be required to answer a simple question, such as "5+5 =" with a series of choices in a multiple-choice format, with four or five options. Although this example question is extremely simple, the questions will be designed to ensure that the user has to read the question and select the correct answer, to ensure that the user is completely awake before the alarm is disabled. To ensure that this application is suited to users of varying preferences, there will be 3 different types of puzzles. These will be: mathematical, shapes, and finally, physical (finger pathways).
These puzzles will change, with at least 10 different puzzles being used at random to ensure that the user is not simply able to remember which answer to select, eliminating the potentially damaging effect of repetition on the ability of the application to satisfy its core function. To ensure that repetition does not occur across these 30 puzzles, more puzzles and more types of puzzles will be added after the first release.
In summary, this pitch is for the books and associated costs, particularly those of the time required to code the application, as well as those to finally acquire and purchase a developers license from Apple. The available rewards are limited simply due to the nature of the pitch, although we are researching and testing the possibility of beta-testing to all funders.
