Aid for refugees in Lesbos, Greece

Help desperate refugees in Lesbos, Greece with supplies and donations.

On the 3rd of January I will be travelling to Lesbos, Greece where I will spend my time on the island volunteering as the humanitarian crisis is rapidly growing.

The crisis

Hundreds of refugees are arriving on this tiny island daily, fleeing from war torn countries such as Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq.

After being forced by fear to leave their own homes, undergoing the most terrifying and treacherous journey of a lifetime they are then left traumatised, in horrific conditions and with no way to rebuild their lives.

Men, women and children are suffering terribly and dying on the coasts of Europe, for the sake of humanity alone we must help them, not turn our backs.

How you can help

Before I leave I am trying to raise as much money as possible to pay for refugee supplies.

The trip is entirely self funded (flights, accommodation and food). ALL the money raised will go towards supplies, which I am aiming to buy on the Island where possible to boost the local economy.

Needs change daily dependant on what the warehouses receive but supplies might be things like:

  • Waterproofs
  • Water bottles
  • Tents
  • Torches
  • Packaged food
  • Sleeping bags

I am also planning to take a 23kg suitcase filled with necessities to give out. Any donations of items would be much appreciated. I am looking for smaller/lightweight items:

  • Emergency blankets
  • Rain ponchos
  • Socks
  • Hats
  • Thermal gloves

The list goes on. There’s lots of useful info that can be found online detailing most needed items. Please get in contact if you would like to donate items for me to take.

Crowdfunder takes 5% of the total raised, please get in touch if you would like to donate but would feel more comfotable giving it to me directly.
