A Dream Deferred

You have a dream. Everyone does. Something that only you can offer the world and that no one else ever can.  Some dreams will end gang violence; others youth unemployment. Among us are the peacemakers, architects for the end of poverty and suffering. All of us have a dream that will inspire those that come after us to live their most powerful, passionate lives.

Will you live yours? And help others to do the same?

A Dream Deferred, a buffet dinner and stage event, designed to bring people together to explore their dreams for their communities and their world will be hosted in the borough of Lewisham, London on November 11th 2015.

The event comes at a time, when across the globe, seismic shifts in economic, social and cultural norms, are creating challenges and changes in the way that people live, love and work.

Lewisham is a borough that exemplifies hope for the future. It shares the highest statistics for young people eligible for free school meals because of low family incomes while at the same time also sharing it for having the highest number of young people who are not entitled because of higher family incomes!

It is a diverse community where a 41% native population live side by side with a large immigrant community especially from Africa and the Caribbean.

It is a perfect place to stir up dreams of equality, financial freedom, happy families and realised potential.

We want to harness the power of the community to create a future of its own design from their best hopes for themselves, their families, their neighbourhoods, and their world.

During the event, people who have achieved dreams both big and small will share what it took for them to make it happen.

Others who live their lives through art will inspire with poetry, song, stories and music.

Attendees will engage in a conversation together and with successful life coaches about what they dream for themselves, their families and their communities and how they will make their dreams come true.

The event would also like to support 3 people or organisations to start their journey towards the realisation of their dreams.

And this is where you can help!

Please give as little as a pound and as much as you would like to make a difference in someone else’s life!

Your contribution can help to ensure that the people who need it the most can attend this event by sponsoring tickets or can help fill the pot that supports someone to change the world in a way that only they can.

Thank you for your support!
