A Six and Two Threes is about two kids from different sides of the tracks who meet when one of them goes looking for his real Dad. Over the course of the day, they realise they may have more in common than they think. It's a comedy-drama about how, deep down, we're all just looking for a friend. The film is set in Stockton-on-Tees, a small town in the North East of England. The character and idiosyncrasies of the Teesside dialect is at the heart of the story, and the film will be made using all local cast and crew. We're really not interested in boring, grim-up-north stereotypes. We want to make a film with the same vibrancy and energy as the characters it portrays. We're being really ambitious with how we want to make this film and, simply put, the more resources we have to pour into it, the closer we're going to get to that. For us, this is as much about creating an audience as it is about raising funds. For as little as £5, you'll get insight into how the film is made, behind the scenes updates, and you get to be there at the end when we screen the film. You can really see this project through with us, and your contribution will go a long way towards helping us make the ambitious film we want to make. Everyone who contributes will be added to our raffle and one lucky contributor will be selected to star as an extra in the film! We've been lucky enough to be supported by Creative England, who have already given £5,000 towards the making of the film. We're looking to raise additional funds to supplement the post-production budget - namely music, sound mixing and colour grading. Our vision is to make a film that does the characters and story proud and that can compete in film festivals. With your help, we can make a film that could be seen on screens across the world! SO WHO'S INVOLVED? Colour Grading is the process of enhancing the colours of a film. We want to work with a company called Fantomline Pictures. Fantomeline Pictures are an award winning production company with bases in Newcastle, Manchester and London. Specialising in DIT, cinematography, editing and grading, they have worked on over 17 feature films and 5 broadcast TV series. Recent broadcast credits include A Monster Calls, Peaky Blinders, Inspector George Gently, Electricity, Undercover, An Inspector Calls and our first broadcast production Once More For Bobby. "Having graded a couple of projects with Candle and Bell we are excited to be working with them again on a short film that we expect to be quite special. The film will surely highlight the homegrown talent of the region." - Stephen Hedley, Colourist, Fantomeline Pictures. Andy Ludbrook - Sound Designer / Mixer With your support we will be able to work with some of the most talented professionals in the North East, and that includes a certain Andy Ludbrock. Andy has been designing sound for film and television productions since 1978 and has won an RTS award for his work. He has worked on films such as 'Dog Soldiers', "Bloodlust and "Bait Room". SO WHAT DO YOU GET FROM THIS? Short films are an integral part of a filmmakers career. All the great filmmakers you know of today started out making short films - just like us. By contributing even the smallest amount, you'll be part of a film that is challenging stereotypes and showcasing the great filmmaking talent we have in the North East. We will also send you rewards for your contribution and, because we have the backing of Creative England and the BFI, you'll be part of a film that will get regional and national attention.
