Somerset Medieval Center (cic) is an ambitious project that is need of some initial funds to hire an architect and pay for professional services; your support is critical to realising the vision!

We aim to bring the medieval world (history) to life and preserve crafts and skills through hands-on experiences. These expereinces will be delivered by local crafts people who are able to use the purpose built facility to engage in their trades.
Through a close working releationship with local schools and colleges, we hope to be able to enchance learning and offer apprenticships and internships in multiple discplins - encouraging the next generation to preserve the skills of our forefathers.
The SMC will be a community hub, enabling local community groups a stable "head office" and space to operate. Taunton has a number of sports halls, church halls, and similar indoor areas suitable for use by clubs, but due to over subscription and conflicting buiness priorities, are often unavailable to groups who need them. SMC will be one of the largest indoor spaces in the Town for maximum flexibility and appeal.
