Additional funding will mean that groups who come to the Asylum can also take part in a pre-show workshop with Kneehigh artists. The workshops help participants explore the themes of the show creatively, adding and enriching the experience of seeing a show at the Asylum.

We are Kneehigh. We are a Cornish theatre company and we tour our award winning shows around the world.

Each year we pitch our Asylum tent in Cornwall and thousands of people come and watch our shows. This year we are presenting a brand new show, 946, adapted by Emma Rice and Michael Morpurgo.

This year we need your help. We want to share the wonderment, excitement and anarchy of our shows. You may not know it but Cornwall is one of the poorest places in the UK, which makes it difficult for eveyone to be part of the Kneehigh community. For instance, many people who want to see our shows are unable to because they can’t afford the price of a ticket. But it isn’t just about money. Many people do not attend shows because they feel they don’t belong in a theatre.

We want to change this, and with a donation you can help us do this.

We will work with community groups to find the people who will benefit the most from the opportunity to see the show. We will invite them to the Asylum, and host them as VIPs with complementary drinks and a programme to make sure they too feel welcome and an important part of the Kneehigh family.

This summer we want to give 300 young people and adults the chance to have an Asylum experience. As well as watching the show, groups will have the opportunity to meet and work with Kneehigh artists.

We need you to work with us to provide tickets for the groups who visit the Asylum. Whether you can give £5 to cover the costs of refreshments and a programme for a participant, or donate £300 so a whole group can come to a show.

We hope you will get involved and help us share the theatre that you love.
