The project is simply to fuel the jet, ignite the fire, grease the hinges, prepare for lift-off.
About the project
For those who don't know me, I'm the super-creative Des.I'm very ambitious, courageous and inquisitive. All through life, I've had the kind of attiude that says "Hmm...that looks fun...I think I might try it". I put my hand to everything that intrigues me. Art, Music (playing keyboard, drums, guitar, writing songs, producing music), photography, videography, tattooing, etc. I needed a website, I learnt to make one and (as basic as it is) I made one (http://www.ibdesmond.com), I needed business cards so I made some. I needed a music for performing live, I became that producer. The list goes on.
My most recent venture is playing guitar. I started teaching myself guitar last October (2014) and I absolutely love it. I feel like I'm progressing rapid and it's given me EVEN MORE ambition. However, I want to alter my sound and experiment and unleash new levels of my creativity but so far, I'm limited to an amp with 3 different effects and 4 seperate presets each. I've gotten the most I can out of it but now I want to go even further.I was visiting PMT music store with my brother and decided to window shop at the guitar pedals. I asked for some advice and one of the staff member recommended me a multi-effects pedal. He gave me the most incredible demo that made me fall absolutely in love with it, and explain how I'd be getting SOOOO much for my money. (Here is a link for those interested: http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/boss-me-80-multi-effects-pedal.html). And so this is where the money will go. Anything on top of that will be a bonus which will go towards (depending how much extra I get) leads, amps, a guitar strap, a guitar case, some new pick-ups, and some new strings. It might also help me pay it forward to a friend that lent me guitar but I haven't been able to play because it's broke. The money will go towards a new bridge.
Why dont I just raise the money myself
I'm currently in a position where I'm not able to work and so money is sparse. I feel so cheeky asking others for money but a friend of mine recommended me this site. He told me about a guy who put up an add to be supported financially so that he can live and not have to work...now THAT's cheeky. Instead of begging, I thought I showcase my progress and try and show you that the money is going to good use. You're not just buying me some gear, you're investing in me and my craft, my dreams, my career, and me as a musician.
AND YES, I WILL BE DONATING INTO MY OWN PROJECT MYSELF!
FOR THOSE WANTING TO FOLLOW MY PROGRESS AS A GUITARIST, I POST VIDEOS FROM TIME TO TIME ON INSTAGRAM SO FEEL FREE TO FOLLOW ME ON THERE: HTTP://WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM/IBDESMOND.
Thanks for your time. And thanks to those that have donated.
