Project aim

Margaret Ferrier is the SNP candidate for the Rutherglen & Hamilton West constituency. The seat is currently occupied by Labour's shadow Energy Minister Tom Greatrex. Buoyed by recent opinion polls and the very encouraging results of local canvassing we're confident that this a seat we can take from Labour. We've got the manpower, now we need help to fund Margaret's campaign.

What We Need

A great many people are generously giving their time to help the campaign at the minute. However, campaigning costs money too. Printed materials, telephone canvassing and hall hire are just a few of the many outgoings we'll encounter.

We're up against a well financed machine. Both the Labour Party and the Co-operative Party will be funding Greatrex's bid for re-election. It is up to the Rutherglen and Hamilton branches of the SNP to finance the campaign to elect Margaret. We believe we can win this seat, but we need people to dig deep and assist financially. All money raised will be deposited into Rutherglen SNP's bank account for exclusive use in the Rutherglen & Hamilton West campaign.

About Margaret

Margaret Ferrier is a 54 year old working mother who has resided in Cambuslang for 15 years, having previously lived in Rutherglen. She was a leading light in the local Yes campaign and is an elected community councillor and Vice-chair of Halfway Community Council. Passionate about both local community and national Scottish issues, Margaret will work tirelessly to ensure the constituency is given the representation it deserves as well as ensuring that the promised powers of 'The Vow' make their way to the Scottish Parliament.

Whilst Mr Greatrex has recently been busy voting with the Tories for harsh austerity cuts, Margaret will seek to put an end to this damaging agenda. She will seek to tackle the rampant inequality which has spiralled out of control under the watchful eye of New Labour and the Conservatives. Fairness and equality lie at the heart of Margaret's campaign.
