I am Chelsey Grattan, 14 years of age and I will be doing a 22 mile bike cycle, on the cycle path from Dunfermline to Alloa and return. This will take place Sunday 30th July 2017 at 11am.
This is in Aid of a school expedition to Kenya to volunteer with Camps International through Queen Anne High School. The aim of this fund is to support me in working with local communities on the Kenyan coast, supporting with projects such as:
Education (Help building new school classroom or kindergarten)
Housing (Constructing vitally needed community housing from local materials for some of the most impoverished families)
Health care and sanitation (Improving the health of a whole community through installing and improving local amenities)
Food and water security (Installing new water facilities to provide fresh drinking water to locals)
Environmental protection (Digging animal watering holes, deworm livestock and help rangers protect vulnerable wildlife from poachers.
Sustainable livelihoods (Making elephant poo paper and flip-flop key-rings which local people can sell and support micro-enterprise.
Not only this, it will help in my personal development challenging myself to undertake life-enhancing projects by improving communication/team building skills.
At the end of the trip I will be awarded the certificate of personal effectiveness/(CoPE) level 3 award.
I would like to go to university to train as a doctor and by doing this expedition it would give me the knowledge and experience in transforming a view of myself, my future and the world around me.
Please can I ask you to help fund me to achieve this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Your generosity means everything to me!
