Hi we are The 10,000 Hours Foundation and this is our first project in the UK.
We are a volunteering organisation from the Netherlands. It’s our mission to support local communities & the environment around Dance Music Festivals whilst introducing festival lovers to volunteering.
OUR FIRST PROJECT!
We are hosting a volunteer kitchen in partnership with WeAreFSTVL, supporting the local homeless population near their festival.
We’ll be feeding around forty homeless people and providing a social evening with our volunteers.
It’s happening at Harold Hill Church next Wednesday 17th May and we need your support!
We are working with Havering Council Community team who have invited everyone down from the local council shelters, and local homeless charity Hope4Havering will be providing outreach and support services.
We are very privileged to have Mixmag supporting us as media partner.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Please show your support by pledging… check out the rewards!
1) producing this event (from meal ingredients to insurance cover for our volunteers)
2) helping set The 10,000 Hours Foundation up as a non-profit company so we can do more projects and connect more people with volunteering!
HERE’S ONE WE MADE EARLIER…
At the Amsterdam Dance Event in 2015 we hosted a kitchen for the homeless with Seth Troxler and our volunteers..
HISTORY OF THE 10,000 HOURS FOUNDATION
The 10,000 HOURS Foundation began in Amsterdam in 2010. Since then we’ve organised over 38,000 hours of voluntary work supporting the homeless, elderly, disadvantaged and the environment.
Having worked with festivals such as Awakenings, Mysteryland and Amsterdam Dance Event we are now expanding our mission to the UK.
This summer we are partnering with several festivals (to be announced!) and with the help of our media partner Mixmag we want to spread our mission of positive action and enable more people to do good.
